IM Anup Deshmukh (India) won 1st Above 2000 FIDE Rating Online Classical Chess Tournament conducted from 10th August – 18th August by scoring 6.5 points out of nine rounds. Both IM Anup Deshmukh and the young talent Jinan Jomon (India) tied for the first place by scoring equal points but IM Anup won the title based on the better tie-breaks score, and Jinan Jomon stood at the second place. We are announcing the final results on Today after we received chess.com fair play confirmation report.

This online tournament is a Chess Parent and Player initiative with the support of chess.com India and will be organized on every month from 10th – 18th at 9AM GMT/UTC (2.30 PM India time). It is a free online classical (90 minutes + 30 seconds increment from move one) tournament without any prize money for the players whose FIDE peak published rating is above 2000.

16 players participated at this event by including five titled players (2 IMs, 2 FMs and 1 WFM). Players from three countries (India, Ireland and Moldova) were participated at this tournament. We have witnessed hard fought games among these players in all the nine rounds. FA S. Subba Raju is the Chief Arbiter for this tournament and IM Rakesh Kulkarni, head of chess.com India has supported all the online technical aspects related to integration of each round pairings at chess-results with chess.com
