Crystal Lake Middle Wins County Chess Championship
For the 5th time in 6 years Crystal Lake has won the County Chess Championship. A lot of credit has to go to these 25 student players who battled through 4 monthly team tournaments, stiff competition (25 other schools including 10 academy schools and over 180 registered players). In addition, at least 8 players qualified to play for the county chess championship for individual honors on March 15 out of a field of 16 (the top 16 middle school players in the county known as "The Top 16") which means... out of 25 middle schools... half the field of 16 players will be from CLMS. Great job students!
