How to play in the endgame in your games!
Introduction:
Playing in the endgame is very hard to do. In this blog, I will be sharing a rule of thumb, then I will give an example! I will try to put as much information that I can do, and I will share some basic endgames to add to your endgame knowledge! I will also include a beautiful endgame puzzle at the end of the blog so don’t leave!
Rule of thumbs:
1. Activity is one of the most important
That was a nice example of activity. We used our active king and queen to win the game! Also, did you like the end of that where you move the king and then checkmate? I liked it a lot because THAT IS SO RARE!
2.get a passed pawn if you can
This might not be the most beautiful puzzle ever, but this shows you that you can even give up a pawn to create a tiny passed pawn. But, the tiny passed pawn can become a powerful queen!
I will post another example because I used this in a game today on lichess!
That was another good example of making passed pawns! This was a game I played on lichess! If you don’t believe me I will give you the link!https://lichess.org/jzqVIAdQ/white#67
Basic endgames!
1. Rook pawn with wrong colored bishop(pls no bishop)
This was one of the most basic endgame. This is a draw even though the opponent is up a healthy 4 points of material.
What if the bishops color is the right corner?
2. How to win king vs king and pawn(draw)
This one of the hardest things to do especially if this is the first time learning it, but I will give you some tips in the position
