The following online group lessons are available for school year 2023-2024, starting in the week of September 6, 2023:

Step 2: Saturdays 7:00pm-8:15pm EST
Step 3: Saturdays 8:30pm-9:45pm EST
Step 3: Wednesday 7:00pm-8:15pm EST
Step 4: Wednesday 8:30pm-9:45pm EST
Step 4: Monday 7:00pm-8:15pm EST
Step 5: Monday 8:30pm-9:45pm EST

​​Class Design:

  1. The class lasts for a year for each Step. 34 lessons are mandatory from Sept to next June, while lessons in summer are optional (not included in tuition).
  2. We assign 3-page or more homework (36 problems) every week. 
  3. All classes are recorded, and shared with registered students.
  4. We are using zoom.

Requirements:

  1. ​Step 2: can finish games confidently and quickly with no illegal moves, will learn tactics, suggested USCF rating: 300 - 800, chess.com 300-1000
  2. Step 3: open to rated tournament players, suggested USCF rating: 700-1200, chess.com 900-1300
  3. Step 4: open to rated tournament players, suggested USCF rating: 1000-1500, chess.com 1200-1600
  4. Step 5: open to rated tournament players, suggested USCF rating: 1250-1750, chess.com 1400-1800
  5. Buy the required workbooks* before the class starts.
  6. Has high-speed connection at home and a microphone.
  7. Has an chess.com account. You can sign up one for free. We will review your online games.


* For Step 2, I suggest to buy Learning Chess Step 2, Step 2 extra, Step 2 plus Workbooks at the same time; similar for other Steps. You can order them from: https://www.chess-steps.com/webshop.php or http://www.stappenmethode.nl/en/order-books-cds.php​ or Amazon.

Format (75 minutes): 45 minutes interactive lesson; and 30 minutes game explanation.

Step 5： 战术组合和残局应用
开局和中局理念在每个Step都有涉及。

要求：
Step 2: 学棋一年以上，USCF积分在300-800之间，需要学习战术。chess.com 300-1000
Step 3: USCF积分在700-1200之间, chess.com 900-1300
Step 4: USCF积分在1000-1500之间, chess.com 1200-1600
Step 5: USCF积分在1250-1750之间, chess.com 1400-1800
