My Best Games #8: Classical Pirc | Running out of games...

I have a small problem. I'm going to run out of my best games soon. Now I'm having to scour my archive for them, and some of them are ones that were so long ago I don't remember them. To fix that I need probably need to play more so that I can play good games to share here. And If I want to have time to play, I might need to cut down on the frequency of the my posts, like I said last time. If I can't manage that, I might even have to lower the standards of what I consider my best games... Anyway, it probably doesn't really matter as this series is probably only going to last a few more posts, and then I'll switch to another topic. If you have any ideas on what my next topic(s) should be, please feel free to comment them down below! Any ideas would be appreciated.

Big news! Yesterday I applied for Top Blogger status! After chess.com's staff reviews it they'll decide whether or not it's suitable for the status. This is what the new blog from chess.com says about becoming a top blogger (from https://www.chess.com/article/view/how-to-become-a-top-blogger-for-chess-com):

"Top Blogger" status can only be awarded by Chess.com staff. Bloggers making regular, positive, high-quality contributions to the Chess.com community are given this stamp of approval and time on Chess.com's home page.

To be considered, blogs must regularly follow these three rules, matching the rest of Chess.com's premium featured news and articles content:

  • Use a main image for the blog that is at least 1280x720 pixels. A quality thumbnail is a MUST to be considered for top blogger status. When showing online chess products or boards, Chess.com's software must be used.
  • Include content that is relevant (chess), helpful (teaching, educating, not advertising) and nice (not designed to be purely inflammatory to any race, religion, political party, gender or nationality).

I think I'm going to have to edit the image sizes a bit, but everything should be fine after that. And everything written in this will always be chess relevant!

Crossing my fingers! 🤞

Now to today's game.

This one is another one that was played a while ago. My opponent was @bonoxz. Their rating at the time of the game was 1912, but now it is 2003. Their peak rating was 2094. My rating at the time was 1922.

The opening in this game was a Classical Pirc. I mentioned the Pirc in my last blog, when the opening was a Pirc Defense: Small Center and compared the two openings in the game analysis. If you would like to check it out, here's the link to the last blog:

Now the annotations tool isn't working again so I can't place punctuation... I don't know why but it keeps turning on and off.

No matter, here's the game today!

I didn't analyze the last game that I posted in the SPL forums, so I'll save that one for next time. It's another Dragon game! I suggest that after you play through it you compare it to my 4th blog post, about another very, very similar game. You can find it here:

Today I didn't have enough time to post any puzzles, but I'll try to next time!

Thanks for reading! If you liked it share it and follow! See you next time.
