This should be the most obvious tactic. you should have seen it many times. before you scroll through the moves. look at the position and try to find the move for white.

if on the next move you get the move correct you obviously must be knowing this tactic.

THE FORK.

it is a tactic where you basically try to attack to pieces at the same time. The example I showed you was a very famous fork. THE QUEEN AND KING FORK.

let me show you another example,

oh! but fork can be given with all pieces, mostly you would see forks with knight and maybe pawns but they can be given with a rook, queen and bishop as well as long as your piece cannot be captured it is a real fork.

and there are three different variations that can happen, but you can win at least one piece which will win you an advantage.

here are some tips: -

. ONLY GIVE REAL FORKS. I mean that don't give such forks where both the pieces are protected, unless you get an exchange where you have a tactic to win.

. PRACTICE MAKING SIMPLE AND TERRIFYING FORKS. I mean try to make forks that can troll or attack your opponent.

. PRACTICE FINDING HANGING PIECES (THE PIECES THAT ARE NOT PROTECTED WITH ANY PIECE)

SEE IF YOU CAN ATTACK TO HANGING PIECES AT THE SAME TIME ON SUCH A SQUARE.
