so lets go---getting my rating back.....

Today I played three games here on chess.com, this one is one of them, and it got me thinking about how much my mental state affects my performance on the board. Chess has been a big part of my life for the last 13 years. I've learned that my ability to play well is closely tied to how I feel mentally. When I'm in a good place mentally, I can play strong, focused games like the one I just had. But when I'm not feeling well, my rating can drop, and I struggle to stay focused.
In this recent game, I managed to keep control from start to finish. It felt like my mind was clear, and I could see the best moves easily. This isn't always the case. Sometimes, my thoughts are scattered, and I make mistakes that I wouldn't normally make. But when I'm calm and focused, I play at a much higher level.
Playing chess almost every day has helped me understand my mind better. It's not just about knowing the right moves; it's also about being in the right mental state to make those moves. Chess has taught me the importance of mental clarity and how it can influence not just my game, but my life overall.
