Do You Want to Get Rocked?
Hello chess.com friends!
After a wonderful week around Europe (Liege, Manchester, Dublin and Cork) I am finally back in the heat of the action. Where the big games are played, and where some of the best Europeans compete for the continental title- in my homeland- Bulgaria!
Our second largest city Plovdiv is once again hosting the prestigious event. In 2008 it was the Dutch GM Sergey Tiviakov who won the title. This year he is not participating. Moreover, in the history of the event no one has ever managed to win the title twice.
So, who is going to be the European champion this year? The top seeded Fabiano Caruana? Or some of the leading GMs- Naiditsch, Fressinet, Kuzubov, Inarkiev, Jones, Vachier? Or somebody else?
Will Shakhriyar Mamedyarov stop the string of six consequtive draws?
Will Anish Giri recover from the poor start?
And mainly, who will be the new champion?
All these questions have one answer- just follow the live shows from Plovdiv starting from tomorrow, 27 March just after the free day, and you will find out!
The full schedule is here.
I will try to find interesting guests for you each day and do not forget that your participation, questions, and ideas are highly appreciated!
