Black on the Bottom

I was playing Black online this afternoon (yahoo).  I lost both games due to blunders that I made.  Over the past few years, I have been playing mostly computers, (Chessmaster 6000 and Radio Shack e-chess); rarely playing online or over the board.  No matter which side you play (in Chessmaster) the diagram of the position always has Black at the top and White at the bottom.  (Needless to say, I have yet to beat Chessmaster.  The program gives me a rating of about 800.)  The chess books I have also always have Black at the top and White at the bottom of the diagrams.  There is no way that I know of, when playing at Yahoo, of keeping Black at the top when playing Black.  I must admit that I have yet to play any games here at Chess.com, so I do not know what the situation is here.

Right now, I am disappointed with my performance during the games and am blaming my losses on the way the board was presented to me (Black at the bottom).  I usually play better chess.  Am I just being ridiculous and not accepting the fact that I had a bad day, (being anal)?  Or, does it bother others out there, when playing Black online, that Black's side is shown at the bottom of the diagram?

Thanks,

Dee
