Find the best move!
In reality, Black is still better here. Can you find the move?
b5!
This is the only move in this position that saves the game for me. If I had moved my rook, then that would have left my knight for taking. If I had moved my knight, then I would be down a rook.
Notice how my opponent could not take the pawn with Rxb5. This allows a discovered check with Nf3+!, allowing me to win an exchange with 1.gxf3 Rxe1+ 2. Kf2 Rxb5 3. Bxb5 Rb1
The position after 3...Rb1
In this game, my opponent took with the bishop, thinking that I had just hung a pawn. The discovered check still works: after 1...Nf3+ 2. gxf3 Rxe1 3. Rxe1 Rxb5, I win back the knight that I had sacrificed. I now have a winning endgame, since I have a passed pawn and a better pawn structure.
