Intermediate Chess Class #2
Hello everyone!
I'm back and ready to roll. For those of you who do not know, I am teaching an Intermediate Chess Class at the Orlando Chess Academy and my class is for kids who have learned the basic rules of chess and a bit of the basic principles of chess. Both of which is taught in the Beginner's Class.
For this week's lesson I thought I would start out with a quick review of my last lesson on Paul Morphy's Opera House game by presenting the final position as a tactical puzzle to the class, but for the main body of the class, my plan is to go over basic endgames. There isn't too much to this one, I will simply start with QK v K, RK v K, KP v K which I expect them to finish easily then add in the slightly more tricky ones KBB v K, QK v K with a pawn on the verge of promoting etc.
For now I will just leave it at that but perhaps I will post the lesson on this page in a later edit, especially if I get any requests to.
