
Intermediate Chess Class #3
Hello Everyone!
This week we are picking up where we left off last week and doing more endgames. The kids already knew how to checkmate with a lone queen and king and with a lone rook and king which is good, but they were not left bored last week because I taught them how to checkmate with 2 bishops as was requested (they mostly knew what to do but I helped them with a few tips) but more importantly I taught them the correct technique for winning with a lone King and Pawn (only one of them knew what to do) and how to use the extra pawn to win a King and Pawn endgame. Today I would like to cover other basic endgames before moving on and practicing scenarios (such as R + P vs R).
