Legends, Bots, and Chess

Hello, today we are going to learn about legends and the "Bots" who beat them at chess. Legends in this video are People who are really good at chess and beat ALMOST everyone. They are good at everything in chess and almost never lose. They only have one nemesis. A coded "thing" (or in some cases humans) called bots. There are 3 types of bots in chess. There are human bots. These are humans that are not good at chess. To be clear THEY ARE NOT A MATCH AGAINST THE LEGENDS. They SUCK. I would go on but we have more important things to talk about. There are also computer bots. These are bots that range from low rated players to high rated players. The lower ones get crushed by legends and the higher ones destroy legends. The 3rd type of bots are called Robots. These are the bots that legends will play in the future. We shall imagine they will crush absolutely everyone they play chess against. Btw I am going to use the switch between bots and computers for a while.

Now that that is out of the way lets talk about the timeline.

Chess started a LONG time ago. Back then the only bots that existed were human bots. No one knows how their games were played. The first game recorded was in 1475 by Francesco di Castellvi (Who was white) and Narciso Vinyoles (Who was black) Check it out!

So yeah that was the first game ever recorded. This game started a chain reaction that introduced many players to chess. It wasn't a bad game around my level.

After this we skip a century to 1575 when the first chess tournament. Not much is known about this tournament. But at this time people started to get stronger.

Then we skip a lot to the 1850s when our legends finally started appearing. Paul Morphy came  and CRUSHED everyone and people started treating him like a Unofficial World Champion. Our 1st legend could beat any bot of his time because their were only human bots who are pathetic vs Legends. Lets look at Paul Morphys most famous game known as the opera game.

From here Legends started destroying bots and William Steinitz becomes the world champion. The players kept getting better and chess kept getting more popular. After William Steinitz the Russians took over chess and for a while they dominated.

The first computer bot came in 1958 and these couldn't play good. These were even worse than human bots. By 1970 computer bot evolved and could beat a human bot rated around 1600. Sorry not to be mean to you but 1600s and below are human bots. Around this time is also when Fischer started dominating. He destroyed everyone and was recognised as one of the best chess legends ever. Even thought computers were getting good so were the humans and the bots still couldn't beat legends. In 1978 a computer bot beat a human master in a tournament for the first time against David Levy. Here is the game.

After this the computer bots grew very fast and began beating a lot of masters. Even though the bots got lots of wins over masters the legends began pulling out their trump card Garry Kasparov. He was annihilating people at chess and proved that the bots still couldn't beat the legends by destroying Deep Thought in two exhibition games. However, all that changed when Garry Kasparov faced the best bot at that time Deep Blue. Lets look at this game 6 of this match (The deciding game).

After this people worried. If the great Kasparov couldn't beat the bots, what is going to happen to chess. To make you feel better there are still puzzles and positions that a computer cannot solve but a human can. Here are some of them.

The computer thinks black is crushing but it is a draw. How?

Here is another one

I personally think that the legends like Garry at this stage if they played at their very peaks then they could beat Deep Blue but it would be very close. After this bot blasted up the ratings. After Deep Blue, Komodo the chess bot came and reached new chess heights never seen before. After Deep Blue, bots could always destroy Legends.

So far we have only looked at 2 types of bots. Lets travel into the future to look at the 3rd type of bot. Zoom!

Oh look there is a talking, flying, super antigravity hoverboard. Oops off topic lets go look at google whoa what is that?

"Hi I am google what do you want."
