2016 Chess resolutions
Happy New Year everyone!
2015 was a great year of chess for me. I managed to cross the 1800 ELO mark for the first time and stay in the 1700-1800 region for majority of the year. I dare say that my understanding of the game has deepened.
So here are my chess goals for 2016.
1) To keep my rating in the 1800-1900 region. God willing, I really would like to break 1900 but that would be a bonus
2) Add some new openings to my existing repertoire. (At present I am studying the Catalan and the Ragozin Defence - both of which are solid lines which should hold me in good stead even after passing ELO 2000
3) Better chess discpline. Not more then 1-2 hours of playing chess a day with analysis of all previously played games.
4) Endgames. It's high time I started learning how to play them at a higher level.
I hope everyone achieves their chess goal for the year.
Onward to 2016!
