First Loss of the year: Never play in 'auto-pilot' mode

It was bound to happen sooner or later: My first loss of 2024.

My Opponent was 200 ELO points higher rated than me and a National Master (NM) from America.

A lesser-known line occured over the board and I wasn't careful enough; walked right into a greek trap.

Honestly, I played like a beginner. =(

  1. Take home lessons:
  2. Have a good think in new positions. Check for opponents resources.
  3. Don't play on 'auto-pilot'.
