I'm very excited to announce the launch of version 2 for http://chessworldchampionshipdata.com/

I know it was down there for a bit but this is after all a passion project for me and I just didn't have the time for a while. We're back up and running with a fresh new look and up to date data. I really hope you all enjoy the site, so much work, research and sleepless nights went into this and I'm really proud of it.

While it is within a responsive design framework I would highly suggest viewing from your laptop or desktop for the most immersive experience. There is A LOT of data on some of the pages and the limitations of phone screen sizes can inhibit the usability as it pertains to scrolling up and down etc... It's really nice when most of the data is on the screen and your eyes can just bounce back and forth.

Here is the current core functionality that awaits you:

Visualized World Championship Timeline
Openings Data:
Select an opening from the menu dropdown to see stats on Total Occurances, which match it appeared in most, players who played the opening and their record, first time played, last time played and so much more!
Player Data:
If a player has appeared in the WC, even the tournaments, they will have a profile page like you see in the image above. Match by match info with links to the game viewer included.
Match Data:
Each match contains detailed breakdown by player including record, opening repertoire, positional data such as IQP, bishop pair and more.
Positional History:
My personal favorite feature  This allows you to make a move on the board and returns a list of each time that position was reached in WC play. It does not take move order into account which excellent as it allows you to see based on position what there is in the database. You can move one by one or load an FEN string to get your results. I find it fun when going over my games to see if any of the positions I found myself in show up.

That's is for now. If you have feature requests or feel like showing your appreciation there is a donate button in the menu as well. Thanks for all the support from the v1 release years ago and I hope you enjoy the new site. Cheers!
