My First Victory
I won my first online chess match.
I played a chess.com member Lindokuhlekraai whose ELO was 1048. This member is from South Africa and plays a lot of Blitz Chess. It was a very well fought and played game a I enjoyed it thoroughly. I was behind -1 for most on the game but what I believe was a blunder with my opponents Knight got me back in the game and eventually ahead at which time I got more aggressive. I was offered a rematch and was playing as black this time and I quickly discovered I have no knowledge or skill playing black. When I play the CPU, I always play as White; huge mistake!! I quickly watched and read some openings videos as black and read a few articles and open with a version of the Sicilian Defence. My opponent blunder a pawn on the opening and I got ahead early and built my advantage from there in what I believe was a very sound victory. That game is here:
Lindokuhlekraai is a very skilled player and has played hundreds of Blitz games. We are going to play a Blitz game soon and I'm certain I will be annihilated. I decent at Standard, Daily untimed Chess because I have virtually unlimited time to evaluate tactics and position. In Blitz, you have probably 10 minutes for the entire game to make your moves; not my strength. So, enjoy revenge Lindokuhlekraai.
