The asylum Saint-Paul-de-Mauzole where Van Gogh stayed in Saint-Remy-de-Provence
At the square in Arles where once was La Maison Jaune (The Yellow House) where Van Gogh has lived with the French painter Gauguin. Because of heavy battles at the end of WW2, the house is lost.
At Saint-Paul-de_Mauzole; still a very quiet and peaceful place. And it is still an asylum, where the patients make paintings as part of therapy. Above, Van Goghs bed in the asylum.
From Saint-Remy, Van Gogh moved to the village of Auvers-sur-Oise, near Paris.
After a few (very productive) months, Van Gogh shot himself and died. After 1/2 year, his brother Theo died too and his body was later moved to the cemetery in Auvers.
Vincent painted Wheatfield with Crows here.
