Hello everyone! At least once in all of your choice came to might have faced the very famous opening or gambit called the Queen’s gambit. It’s a very easy gambit and useful gambit to do, it starts with D4, D5, and C4. It means to give away a phone to get the full centre, which can be very useful in the chess match. That’s why, it is very important to decline the queens gambit. There are three ways of declining it, and you can use any of those 3 to decline it.

now you might have got a question in your mind. What is the best way to decline the queens gambit?

first of all, know the three ways to decline it.

  1. Decline with King‘s pawn
  2. Marshall defence
  3. Slav Defence

DECLINE WITH KING’S PAWN

first, let’s talk about the declining with the king‘s pawn. If you decline with the Kings pawn, According to me it is bad as you trade a flank pawn for a central pawn. A flank pawn is any pawn other than a central pawn which is less important than a central pawn, So it is bad to decline with the kings pawn.

DECLINE WITH MARSHALL DEFENCE

so actually to tell it truth, this is the worst possible way to decline the Queen‘s gambit. Ask any master, grandmaster, or anybody except Sam. It is best Not to decline with the Marshall defence. In the Marshall defence, you put your night to see 6 to defend your phone and decline it. But that’s already a waste as after he kills with his pawn, no matter how you take your pawn back, he will get the full center. Let me tell you how.

if you take with your knight, He pushes his king’s pawn to get the full center. When is just of no use, it is better for your opponent as he is not down upon and he has the full centre. So that’s bad right? Now you must be wondering what if you take with the Queen. Let me tell you what happens. If you take with your queen, it’s simply gets attacked by the night after it develops and it is the most common move, and after your Queen goes back to its position, he can put his Kings phone ahead and get the full centre and your night cannot take it because it is defended by the opponent’s knight.

So after seeing how you can decline with the Marshall defence, you understand it’s the worst possible way to decline the Queen’s gambit.

SLAV DEFENCE

this is the best way to decline the Queen to decline the queen’s gambit. In slav defence, you protect your phone with a flank pawn. So if your opponent takes your phone you can regain your central pawn as your flank pawn will take the central pawn, and become a central pawn. Also there is a semi Slav defence, which looks like the Caro-Kann and or London system you may say. Most grandmasters do the semi-slav idefence which can be done in Slav defence. Also it’s a pretty solid opening so you might turn out to have a good game. You might have a temporary sacrifice for your knight’s natural developing Square, but it’s okay as you can sort it out later or handle that much because you’re open it may get such a big benefit for it.

SO THAT’S ALL THE WAYS TO DECLINE QUEEN’S GAMBIT AND SLAV DEFENCE IS THE BEST WAY TO DECLINE IT!

You can decline it how ever you want, and I recommend not to decline with marshall defence and decline with Slav defence
