Why did I time out?

So I recently timed out in FOUR TOURNAMENT GAMES which cost me 52 rating points and I'm pretty pissed. I checked last night at 9pm and there were no tourney games but today, at 8:10 pm, I saw that I timed out in 4 of them. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?! ARGH SORRY BUT I'M RAGING RIGHT NOW. PLEASE PUT UP WITH ME.
