The chess enthusiast: No chess games! Just Reflections..

I thought I blog and reflect a little about how my chess progress is going so far, and a little about life.

It's been an eventful year in my life. Graduation and now working, life is moving on. Marriage is coming around the corner too. =)

My love for chess remains the same, and even though I don't have much time as I would like to play games, I really enjoy what little time I have now for the games I play now. Ironically it leds me to study my fewer games with more interest.

Rating wise, I've got a feeling that I'm pretty close to making another breakthrough. However, I've made a decision not to let my rating affect my mood. Win or lose, my goal now is to appreciate chess positions however they come and improve my skill at accurate evaluation of positions

A sidenote: it never ceases to amaze me just how much life lessons you can learn from chess. I should integrate more life analogies into my annotations for reader's pleasure.

A side note: I played my first 'live' chess.com tournament just 2 days ago (rapid open with time control 10mins+0s) and came in 2nd overall. The experience overall was quite fun indeed!

So here's hoping to all you chess fans that you have great games this year! Good or bad, chess is all about having fun and learning.

Thank God for this beautiful game!
