The road to 2000 ELO: part 1
hi everyone! I've decided to blog my rating progress in order to keep an account of how I'm faring.
I must admit that thus far, I am very surprised at my current performance. After recently taking a long break from chess (almost 3 months), my rating has steadily climbed to 1679 since my return! The highest I've ever reached was 1685. I am curious of how such a thing could occur... perhaps I was too caught up and impatient with trying to break 2000 ELO that I burnt myself out wanting to win all the time. Chess is a game of patience. Not just on the board, but off the board as well. Most importantly, I think chess should be a game of fun.. win or lose! I think I've been missing that sort of element in my games recently.
Anyway, I will try to blog some of my best games in a week (I play only twice at most now) regularly. I hope anyone whose reading this will enjoy my games. Any constructive criticism is welcome.=)
Here's one of my better games played this week:
