My weight links me to the majority of the world's population as being overweight or obese.

My sexuality identifies me with the one of ten who are gay or somewhere on the sexual continuum.

It is the natural inclination of any individual to be drawn to those who share some common attribute. Gay chess players seek out fellow gay chess players not as a dating service as some have implied, but because we have something in common with each other.
