Feeling cautiously optimistic!

I just finished what was probably the best tournament performance of my life (so far), and I'm feeling confident going into the Canadian Championships in about a week.

I scored 6/7 in the U2200 section at the Toronto International, and gained a whopping 83 rating points! My rating has gone over 2200 for the first time and now sits at 2241.

Overall my play was very solid. As far as I know, I was never losing any of my 7 games, although I had to fight back from a worse position in my 6th game, and Simon missed an opportunity to gain an edge in our endgame after I misplayed it in time trouble. None of my opponents were easy to beat by any means, but I did sense that I was seeing more and making less mistakes than they were. Hopefully this bodes well for the Canadian Closed!
