KOTH Traps and Strategy
Today i will be covering another element of KOTH. My previous posts were about a month ago, and my rating and skill has improved since then. To get started, here is a warm up KOTH puzzle:
That puzzle is from a trap i previously mentioned, but there is a revised version that is safer to use.
In this first section i will go over many situations regarding this trap. Then, i will discuss the importance of pawns in controlling the center.
Here is the revised version of the first trap. Keep in mind that this trap has some disadvantages too.
However, the important of pawn structure can outweigh this.
Another key aspect is the queen. Here is a game that demonstrates the importance of baiting the queen:

Sometimes, baiting the queen is a very good way to win a KOTH game. Black took the rook and payed for it.
