A short history of Chaturaji

Hi, and welcome to a short history of Chaturaji. (Just because i want to keep it short there is more and I meant make a part two because of that)

first of all, before Chaturaji was ever a thing there was chaturanga a game like chess but there are many different types of pieces then that are either inspired or just ancient versions of the chess pieces we know and play today. chaturanga was made and first played in northwestern India. Now back to Chaturaji at hand, the first ever mentions of Chaturaji was in 1030 from a book by Al-Biruni. The game of Chaturaji has changed a lot of then and now. They back then instead of playing like chess they rolled dice to see which pieces the player got to play that turn. Compared to now a days where you don’t need dice now to play it on chess.com. Finally, Chaturaji was added to chess.com in 2022 to 2023 range of dates. Thank you for reading.
