World Bot Chess.com Championship (Made by me) Round 1 Part 2
Update
To start off I will just give you a quick update on the World Bot championship features.Firstly, I would like to say a big thank you to the 17 people who have viewed my first blog at time of writing this as it is way more than I thought I would get so thank you and if you're reading this and you read the last one then you must have enjoyed it. Now for some bad news and some good news. Firstly, the bad news is that as you probably know a bot called M3gan is getting rid of the cat bots and Mittens is the only one who remains and Mittens is in this tournament, so if Mittens unfortunately does get taken down then my backup plan is to get Wally to take their place as he is an 1800 and seeing as Mittens has only played Martin so far getting Wally's score wouldn't be a problem. Now to the good news, I have managed to save all 4 of the remaining round 1 matches so I will be able to put the links to the games for you to be able to watch today🥳.
Round 1 Part 2
All of the remaining 8 bots are featured here including the 4 highest rated players in terms of ELO in the tournament. Also with the links to the games the colour that says is gradpower it's actually the other player who is not featured as a name because as I said in the last blog I can't put the bots directly against each other so I need to play two matches at once and insert the move that one of the bots have played onto the game with the other bot. So after all that rambling on let's get into the games...
Danny Vs IsabelÂ
If you're wondering if it's Danny Rensch's bot then yes you are right and he is up against 1600 rated Isabel who is 900 ELO lower than Danny who's at 2500.
https://www.chess.com/game/computer/31828171
With a classical Caro-Kann to begin the game it looks fairly balanced after about 10 moves, however then after the book moves finish Rensch takes the upper hand and Isabel starts making errors Rensch, being an IM, leaps onto this and the game slips away from Isabel's hands as Rensch's deadly attack with the pawns causes mayhem. And then on move 40 it's Checkmate with Rensch's pawn turned Queen and Rook doing the job to make it good way for Rensch top get his competition started.
Danya Vs Antonio
Yes this is a GM up against a 1500 but Danya, being the highest rated player in the tournament would expect to win but would he...
https://www.chess.com/game/computer/32032517
This was another Caro-Kann with an even start as Antonio actually held a 0.8 EVAL advantage over Danya, however then the Danya fight must come you would have thought, but it actually was a huge grind for Danya to get even a slight advantage but then on move 23 Antonio played Rook to C1 taking the EVAL from 1.5 in favour of Danya to about 3.2 in favour of Danya and when a GM is ahead by 3 EVAL that pretty much means they're going to win but then Danya's next move was probably my favourite of the tournament so far by making sure it was a Knight for a Rook trade immediately putting himself 2 points up and in the driving seat and from there Danya barely did anything wrong going on to win on move 45.
Francis Vs EmirÂ
Francis is the highest rated non real person bot in this competition and on chess.com and he is very attacking and at 2300 ELO, Emir is 1000 and for some reason his naive kids think he is a GM.
https://www.chess.com/game/computer/32038251
This match was a Dutch Defense and let's just say that it didn't go well for Emir being about 6 EVAL down after just 12 moves so I suppose the main question from this game is how did it not end quicker? Anyways A good win for Francis and a good game played by him.
Elani Vs Noam
This was the biggest gap in ELO in all of the first round matches-a 400 rated Elani against Noam a 2200 rated player who has played against stars in the past.
https://www.chess.com/game/computer/32090863
This one was an absolute hammering but actually after a Nimzo-Indian to begin and 9 moves into the game Elani was actually winning and it wasn't until move 11 when Elani blundered by playing king to F2- a bizarre move which lead to a 20 move Checkmate.
Round-Up
The second part of Round 1 was one that didn't really produce much close games but because this is a Swiss tournament then I expect that all to change going into Round 2. Here is confirmation of today's results and the standings:
Danny beat IsabelÂ
Danya beat Antonio
Francis beat EmirÂ
Noam beat Elani
Standings:
1=:Mittens, Nelson, Li, Danny, Danya, Francis, Noam.   1.0
8=: Martin, Aron, MrBeast, Isabel, Antonio, Emir, Elani.  0.0
Thank you so much for reading this and I hope you've enjoyed it and I also hope you stay for the next one and put your predictions for who you think will win in the comments.🙂
