I finally got to 1000 elo in rapid chess!
Hello yall! I am very sorry I haven't posted anything in a while, I have been very busy with life. But I have gotten a very big achievement recently, though: I hit 1000 elo in rapid chess, an achievement only around 20% of chess.com members have achieved so far. I had some time off from school this week, and I decided to spend most of it grinding rapid chess. At first, things didn't go too well. I started my journey on thursday at 970 elo, playing 8 rated games against chessmaster826pro just for fun. We ended up in a 4-4 tie, but because he has over 100 elo less than me, my elo was down to around 950. I then lost 3 games in a row against random people, bringing my elo down to below 925. This brought my spirits down very low, but because I have gambling instincts, I played 4 more rapid games that day, winning 3 and drawing 1. This brought my rapid elo back up to 950, which was nice, but I still had 50 elo to gain to get to my ultimate goal. On friday I only played 4 games total, winning all of them, but because 1 was unrated, I only got my rating to 970 elo again. On saturday, I finally started to grind. I played 8 games, winning 5 and drawing 3. 1 match that I won was unrated. My rapid elo went from 970 all the way to 996 in a matter of minutes. I just needed to win 1 more game, and I would be at the prestigious 1000 elo. On my last game of the day, I faced 1 of my highest rated opponents ever, Chriskw604. I thought I was winning when I took a free pawn in the first 10 moves of the game, but once the game was finished and I reviewed it, the analysis said that it was a really bad move. My opponent didn't do much to stop it, though, and later lost their bishop, and they were about to lose their rook when they resigned. I couldn't believe it. I was finally 1000 elo in rapid chess!
Thank you everyone who is reading this, and thanks to all of my recent opponents. Cheers! 🍺🍺🍺🍺
Before I finish, I just want to give a few shoutouts here that have really helped me in my chess journey mostly.
