The Immortal Game
I finished the book by David Shenk named the Immortal Game today. It was recommended to me by another chess.com member. It proved to be a fascinating exposition on the basic history of chess, with an annotated and fascinating tactical game. I immensely enjoyed everything but the first two chapters, which, while necessary, I though could be better written. I will have to either buy a copy of it or reread it before I return it to the friend that loaned it to me. I heartily recommend it as a fun read that Will titillate rather than belabor your fascination with the game. (proviso:blog post made while drunk)
