Hi and welcome to Ryan's Awesome Blogs! I am very happy to introduce you to Sinquefield Cup 2022. Sinquefield Cup is an annual tournament where the best players in the world compete with each other. This event is created in 2013 and held in St. Louis. In case you are confused or have not been following the chess world news, Hans Niemann, a rising chess prodigy, have defeated Magnus Carlsen (The best player of all time) in round 3 of Sinquefield Cup 2022 which causes him to withdrew from the tournament. Basically Magnus thinks there is something wrong with Hans's playing, so it means either Hans is a genuis, or he is somehow cheating on OTB. The only way he can cheat is by having someone to help him. For example sending moves on phone or something like that.

But in highest GM levels of chess, there will be no case against the person who are believed to be cheating unless you physically catch soemone cheating. However, in the tournament, there are multiple metal detecters, and other stuff and can identify cheating. So there is no one who even know what is happening. So here is the games Hans has played against Carlsen.

R3: HANS VS CARLSEN

Surprisingly, this is Magnus's FIRST classical loss with black in 4 years! And here is what Hans have to say about it.

The whole world of chess exploded. Now the whole internet doesn't know who to trust.

R5: HANS ADMITS

And in Round 5 of the Sinqufield Cup 2022, Hans openly admit he have cheated 2 times in total. 1 in titled tuesday when he is 12, and when he is 16. And the sus thing about it is when he said he is shamed and lost friends and stuff like that. Even though you might believe he didn't cheat, this is the first time Magnus have withdrew from a tournament and puts his reputation on the line. Yet Hans is still denying he ever cheated in this tournament. Here is what he said in the interview in Round 5.

"

I have NEVER cheated Over The Board

" ------ Niemann

R6: REMOVING HAN

It is round 6 now. And chess staff IM Daniel Rensch @DanielRensch have published that chess.com will be removing Hans from chess.com. That means he wouldn't be able to participate in ANY events chess.com have. So the whole thing is pretty messy here.

R8: Official Cheating Statement

So it seems like the Sinquefield Cup managers haven't found Hans guilty. So it basically means no indication of cheating have been found. Here is the documentary you can read if you would like.
