
My experience of playing chess
My experience of playing chess for 7 years, is pretty interesting. I haven't been very successful in the first years, but slowly, I got a fide rating, in rapid, standard and blitz. I thought getting a fide rating will be very hard, but it wasn't that hard to get one. When I played blitz, I thought, " It isn't so hard! Maybe, I should try out for blitz." And I did. I got a rating in it, and most importantly, I enjoyed it! Since then, I used to think why my chess friends were not comfortable playing blitz. But when I played a classical game with my friend, he said," That was a really fun game, wasn't it?" Honestly, I found it painful! Thats when I realized, not everyone is comfortable playing fast. Of course, after a lot of practice, I found classical also comfortable. Slowly, I got over rapid too. After the pandemic, ( COVID-19) I had decided to play an offline tournament. I didnt do that well in it, as I lost because of illegals. So, my coach said, "Start practicing on the board, then it will affect your playing style." And I did. Then I started watching the top players games, like Magnus Carlsen, Judit Polgar etc. My favorite game was-
From that day, Judit polgar was my favorite player. I copied her opening, Ruy Lopez. I even studied some of her Sicillian games, But didnt find it interesting.
