Legends League
It's not hard to get there. Heck, if I can do it anyone can. You go through a series of a levels and a smaller number get promoted each week to the next level, next week.
The page describing that is here; https://www.chess.com/leagues.
As you can see actually getting promoted to the Legend League is the hardest one because only only one player from your group of 50 in Champions Legend gets promoted to Legend. Once you're there it's a question of "ok, now what"? Because for now they don't do very much. Hopefully that will change soon.
They used to offer cash prizes and premium membership to top players in each group but they they've stopped doing that for now.
Last week I placed first in my Legend League group and got nothing. I wrote Chess.com a note saying that "anything is better than nothing" and I wasn't begging for cash or merchandise, although a T-shirt would be nice. Even just a badge for my Award Board would be nice too, just to prove that I did something.
I'm hoping they'll at least look at the idea but I haven't heard back yet.
In other news I'm trying to take over the name from an account from 2007. The account owner played exactly 3 games back then, and nothing more since. I actually found an obituary of an older gentleman with that exact name and nickname, from the city he lived he in.
I would like the name because it more suits my medical condition after a couple of surgeries this year, and a third one planned as soon as a hospital room becomes available. My first two hospital stays this year each lasted a month, and I'm hoping this third one won't last that long.
As you can imagine, I'm more than a little tired of living in a hospital.
