This blog is about the times when snakes crossed paths with our cats. To fully understand, you’ll need a bit of context.
We live in an area with a lot of snakes, and they sometimes wander into our yard. Our cats are very territorial, which often leads to… confrontations.
This happened once a couple of years ago when our cat Shadow had just returned from a hunting trip. Seeing two snake intruders, she instantly attacked both of them and ended up killing them. Even after they were dead, the snakes kept moving, which scared the wits out of my mom.
A similar incident happened just last year, again with Shadow. She saw a small snake in our garage and decided, instead of killing it, she would use it as a toy. She played with it until she decided it was nap time.
On the other hand, my cat Joey’s first encounter was… less graceful. He almost stepped on the snake’s tail, then jumped at its head and nearly fell over. Poor cat.
Thanks for reading. Anyway, have a good day.
