Blog 5 How we got our pets/Part one the cats

This blog is about how we got our four pets: Hunter the black dog, Joey the orange cat, Shadow the black cat, and Smokey the Husky. This is part one.

Let’s start with Shadow. We got her in 2015, when she was a stray cat. Being a stray, it took her a while to trust us. We slowly earned her trust by feeding her outside the basement door. On one very cold night, we let her into the house, and from then on, she acted like she ruled the place.

Now let’s move on to Joey—the cat who is sitting right next to me while I’m writing this. We got him in 2020 when we were looking for a new cat for my birthday. A little backstory: he was found in a bin next to a trash can with a dozen other kittens. After they were found, he was brought to the pound. That’s where we found him, and we instantly knew he was the one.
