I crossed the 2000 threshold.

I've never played in a live tournament.  I've never really considered myself as very good.  I'm self-taught from engine playing, online games, puzzles, and articles.  I just crossed the 2000 threshold and have no real sense of what it means.  All I know is that opponents are really good (by my measure) starting at about 1800 and I'm feeling more and more pressure to spend longer on my moves in order to keep from losing to a lower rated opponent.

Should I feel shame in losing 200, 300, or ever 400 points below my rating?  I'm of that cut that hates losing and will take it personally when I do.  It's not an attribute I really care for.  I wonder what I should be doing to change...
