Return to Chess 4---A Training Game where I missed an easy one!

Hey everyone, happy start to the weekend.  This morning, I came to a revelation.  Personally, I felt as if I should be focusing more on getting myself into as good of tactical shape as possible in order to be my best self for the upcoming tournament.  So, as a result, I will be focusing on doing as many tactical/endgame works as I can, instead of just trying to memorize openings.

So, today, after warming up with 10 thorough puzzles, I decided to dig into one of my favorite chess books, titled "How to Reassess Your Chess" by Jeremy Silman, an author who I greatly look up to due to his clear writing and natural humor.  In this book (featured on the thumbnail) are tons of examples of tactical problems and tips for the improving player, even though a few of the concepts are a bit difficult for me to follow.  It is a bit expensive at 26 US dollars or so on Amazon, however, I would recommend it!  If there are any more books that an improving player (like yours truly) would enjoy, please leave it down in the comments.

Essentially, I just took my board, read the book, and attempted to solve a few of the examples.  Afterwards, I played a 15 + 10 training game on Chess.Com, in which I was able to defeat a 1400 rated player!  The gameplay is featured in today's accompanying video, but for those who would enjoy seeing a game played in an inserted format, here's the video plus my 20-minute analysis:
