One-up chess

I'm sure someone has suggested this before, but in the interest of those of us who are too lazy to study chess, I submit the following:

What if we set up the board with each side moving all their pieces/pawns forward by one square, leaving the back ranks empty.

I would suggest that the Queens be set up on their own color, which would reverse the normal setup.  I also suggest that pawns can only move one square on any move, (therefore, no en passant) and that there be no castling.

Otherwise, all rules would remain the same.  Of course, you could move your pieces to the back rank as you wish.

Any interest?
