At Ilkla Chess Festival Baht' at (part 2)
I was feeling much happier on Sunday morning than I had on Saturday. 2 points was already not a disaster, I'd had tough games and also discovered that it's well worth fighting on in a lost cause at this level. Furthermore, after 2 blacks in a row I was due at least one white.
First game was a one of my favourite openings, 4 pawns attack in the KID:
Last round I got lucky and had another white. Old Indian this time, don't often come up against this so was pleased to play a decent line for the first 10 moves or so:
So I ended up with 4 points, by myself in 4th place overall (top three on 4.5 and another 4 on 3.5). Performance estimate based on the 5 games is about 1850 but that is highly uncertain and I certainly had a bit of luck in Saturday's games. I was pleased about the final 2 games though. Chess.com's analysis engine rates my accuracy to have been in the low 80% range for the first three games but over 90% for the final two which is very encouraging as I rarely exceed that value in daily chess. 94.8% in round 4 is one of my highest values I think.
Results etc are published here

and the top two boards from each section were streamed, but I never got to play on them having lost my first game.
