I accidentally beat a 1600 rated player in blitz
Ok, so I was about to do some puzzles when a tournament popped up on my screen. I loaded into a game against an Indian player. What I didn’t realize is he was rated 1627. 115 points higher rated than me!
I thought I was playing someone my level. But secretly this opponent was statistically “better” than me. I pulled through, taking advantage of my opponents mistakes and checkmated him with a classic ladder/lawn mower checkmate. Have you ever faced a higher rated player? Post it in the comments.
