Samisch vs Nimzowitsch
Hi all!
Unfortunately, I have decided to stop blogging as I read the My System book. At the start I was thinking saving lots of notes and diagrams would be helpful, but starting to see it as more wasteful! Would rather work through the book quickly (but thoroughly) and move on to the next. Also, need to work on tactics more than strategy.
Here is one quick game of Nimzowitsch's however to demonstrate the ideas of chapters 1-3; The Centre, Open Files, & 7th/8th Ranks. The brilliancy comes at the end of this one, as Nimzowitsch's last move shows great positional understanding, and a neat tactic I would not expect to see in such a busy position! Enjoy.
Nimzo controlled so much space that his opponent couldn't move a single piece, though there were lots remaining. The game mostly showed the open file concept from chapters 1-3 and creating an outpost on said file.
Have finally moved on to the passed pawn chapter and it looks to be very eye opening! Can't wait to continue. Would recommend this book for anyone wanting to work on strategy, but not commit to a large book such as IM Silman's Reassess Your Chess (though a great book too).
Thanks for reading!
