PREFACE
Making an analogy about the daily struggle with sin, I thought the game of chess would serve my purpose very well.
So let's start at the beginning, what can each chess part, piece or move represent?
THE PIECES
The higher the value of the piece, the greater the virtue (or vice, if it is the opponent's)
ENEMY KING: It's the Devil himself
YOUR KING: It's your soul
THE OTHER PIECES OF THE ENEMY: It's the vices
YOUR OTHER PIECES: These are the virtues
PARTS OF THE GAME:
Every part of the chess game is a part of human life.
OPENINGS: These are childhood and adolescence
HALF-GAME: It's adulthood
ENDINGS: They are the elderly age
END OF THE GAME: Death
YOUR GAME:
Every move you make in chess is a part of the fight against sin.
TACTICS AND STRATEGIES: They are Grace
MATERIAL GAIN: It is when you manage to overcome some addiction that dominated you
CHECKMATE: Congratulations! You conquered sin in the final struggle and attained eternal life!
PROMOTION: You've turned a small good thing into a huge virtue

In the end death comes and if you find the best strategies, combinations and tactics, you will achieve eternal life.
