Is Bongcloud an Offense Opening?
The bongcloud opening is consisted of the following moves, e4, e5, Ke2.
The bong cloud is known as a “joke” or “troll” opening invented by @lenny_bongcloudAfter he invented the bong cloud he used it to mock opponents by defeating them with the simple yet dangerous opening. It didn’t always work.
The Bongcloud was first "analyzed" by Andrew Fabbro in his satirical book Winning With the Bongcloud. According to Fabbro, his analysis was inspired by the Chess.com user @Lenny_Bongcloud, who consistently used this opening maneuver.
And was popularized by Hikaru who is a GM (Grandmaster) who played the opening and won against other titled players. But once Magnus played it against him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVCst6vyV80
The Bongcloud opening is known as the “Bongcloud Attack” in several places. But we will be discussing whether it is really an attack.
Now this move can be a very bad option. With this move, you immediately lose your ability to castle, and it won’t take long for Black to skewer your king and queen if your king stays there.
But there is an upside to the popular opening the bong cloud. By developing the king early, we only need one more move to centralize the king on e3, where it controls d4 and e4, two important central squares.
But there isn’t really any attacking going on with the Bongcloud. The only piece developed is the king, the piece that you shouldn’t really develop,So the Bongcloud is not an offense opening.
