Is the French Opening overrated?

Hello guys! Welcome back to another blog and the 3rd member of create-a-blog.       Today we're gonna talk about if the  French Opening is overrated.

The moves of the French defense are, 1. E4, E6 2. D4, D5 3. NC3

It has consistently been a part of master's repertoire since the 1800s and one of the favorites of positional players.

To some it's overrated but to others it’s not. It’s not hated, but rather pretty liked among more experienced players and newer players to the game. But, it is a great  chess opening for chess players of all levels and ages.

According to chess.com it says “How To Play Against The French Defense”
The well-prepared White player should score well against the French Defense. Most of the popular lines in this opening have White winning or drawing most of the games. The variations below show promising results for White.

And what you can use to play against the defense Tarrasch Variation

The Tarrasch Variation scores well against the French Defense, with White winning 42%, drawing 30%, and losing 28%. The White player can develop sensibly and use their central pawn wedge to their favor. White avoids the Winawer lines and is prepared for a semi-open or fully open positions

Chess.com says that if you play the french defense, you would be playing a much slower paced game of chess than normally unless you like the 30l0 games or longer.

There was even a game where former world chess champion Gary Kasparov had played the french defense and had won. Fun fact: the French defense had been made because Paris had defeated London in 1834.

This is a shorter blog than usual but thanks for reading put a note on your thoughts on this sires and go join @minecraftjit 's club on his profile sya next time bye.

According to thechesswebsite.com….

The French Defense, now, you may not expect this, is 2nd place in popularity! Can you believe that? It only loses in popularity to the Sicilian defense, which also starts with 1. E4.
