Chess Oracle’s Riddle Series (4)
Riddle series, week four. Dropping four new ultra-minimal challenges.
#Riddle 1
Two pieces, same line.
The front moves.
The back falls.
- Skewer - A tactic that attacks two pieces in a line. The more valuable one moves, revealing the weaker target.
#Riddle 2
Eyes where they shouldn’t be.
A single move
pulls attention away.
- Deflection - A tactic that lures a defending piece away from its duty.
#Riddle 3
Too much to defend.
One piece can’t hold.
Collapse begins.
- Overload - A piece is forced to defend too much at once and can’t respond to every threat.
#Riddle 4
Unshaken.
Unmoved.
A piece rooted in enemy ground.
- Outpost - A square in enemy territory where a piece (often a knight) can’t be easily challenged.
