Wisdom Teeth,and Bible

Hey y'all,

This is Jamey. This post is going to tell all of y'all about my wisdom teeth experience.

Wisdom Teeth

So, I saw the dentist,he took a look at my x-rays and all 4 were coming in crooked. I was referred to an oral surgeon who I've seen before for a previous extraction. He said he'd have to break a tooth (bottom left) to get it out,and I could be awake instead of being put to sleep which I liked. I just had the surgery done this past Friday (the 3rd). It took laughing gas and about 10 shots of local anesthetic. The shots were the worst part. Now,I thought it was going to take longer, but from my Appointment time (10:30 AM),I was back in the car headed to my pharmacy to get prescriptions filled. I highly recommend the doctor who did it,and if you can be awake,go for it. 

Now,I am on a steroid pack,an antibiotic,and pain killers. The swelling is still here,but smaller than the Golf Ball it was yesterday. Most of the pain is on my left side as that was where the most work needed to be done. I have 2 sets of sutures in there (bottom left and right),and I have a follow-up in 2 weeks. 

Overall,it is so far a rough experience. I've put it this way,"I feel like I was hit by a bowling ball and was forced to swallow it".

Little Devotion

So,since I've never finished a series on the blog,I thought I'd just share a little of what has been going through my mind before this surgery. I have found comfort in Philippians 4 where Paul says:

6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. (NLT). 

I feel like I needed his peace as I was nervous and full of worry when I shouldn't. I also look to music to help me. One song that has helped me are: "Confidence" by Sanctus Real:
