A Masterpiece by Chigorin
A few weeks ago I wanted to publish a multi-game post about Chigorin's endgame prowess. This came about because I had read a quote stating that Chigorin was a very skilled rook endgame player. The truth is, Chigorin was a world-class Master at every facet of the game!
His contributions are so many! We are still playing systems that he invented.....
However, as I always like to publish these games with full comments, the task proved to be too impractical to manifest fully. I will instead show one game which illustrates Chigorin's mastery in all facets of the game, specially the endgame.
The game is Marshall-Chigorin, Barmen 1905 (two and a half years before Chigorin's death on January 1908).
Here are the standings for this tournament:
BARMEN 1905

The game is extracted from Jimmy Adam's masterpiece, his book about Chigorin:

Enjoy!
Peace.
