THE KING IS WORTH 61 POINTS - NOT ZERO

I wonder about the value of the King being 61 because if one adds up the piece values as follows:

Pawns = 8 + Knights = 6 + Bishops = 6 + Rooks =10 + Queen = 9 for a total of 39 then + King = 61 for a total of 8+6+6+10+9+61 = 100.  Does this formula help put the proper emphasis on the King as it would be more valuable than all of the other pieces combined.  Just curious to know your thoughts and thank you for reading.  kingsgrave aka David Allan Cowles Jr.
