Hikaru Nakamura's journey from a prodigious chess prodigy to a global superstar is a testament to his talent and dedication to chess. Born on December 9,1987, in Hirakata, Japan, Nakamura moved to USA at the age of 2. He started to play chess at age of 7 and he played chess under the guide as he received coaching from his stepfather as he was a FIDE Master as he leant from his father, he was raised by his elder brother Asuka and his mother giving him motivation.

Chess Career

Nakamura quickly rose through the ranks of chess. At just 10 years old, he became the youngest American to defeat an International Master and earned the title of chess master from the United States Chess Federation, breaking the previous record held by Vinay Bhat. By the age of 15, he became the youngest American to achieve the title of Grandmaster, surpassing Bobby Fischer's record by three months.
Throughout his career, Nakamura has won numerous prestigious tournaments, including the U.S. Chess Championship five times and the World Fischer Random Chess Championship in 2022. He has represented the United States in multiple Chess Olympiads, contributing to the team's success with a gold medal and two bronze medals.
