I've been playing mostly daily games, which I think is the way to go. I feel like I'm playing higher quality moves most of the time in daily. I played a few blitz games today, and they show that at my current level, no one wins games, it just comes down to which side throws away the game.
The lesson from these games is that if I have any self-respect as a chess player, I need to get a lot better at blitz because I'm getting involved in some really terrible, ugly games and it's kind of a disgrace.
Screwing up the Scandinavian, coming back, then death by mouse slip:
Winning from the Scandinavian, but then handing a checkmate to my opponent:
Opponent hands me a checkmate in a standard attack from the Grand Prix:
Winning because my opponent let's my play hope chess and falls for stupid tricks:
I missed two knight forks and hung my queen, but somehow won anyway:
My basic plan for getting better at blitz right now is to just play more solid daily games, and when I need something faster paced, to do board vision exercises and tactics puzzles, then I'll play some blitz every so often to see if I'm improving. I'm hoping that reviewing my games will help my improve my blitz rating.
