My First Tournament Victory! The Road to GM Begins!
Hi everyone!
Haven't blogged in a while. Has a lot of projects and exams.
But they are all finished. And I'm very happy because I can take a break from school (2 months)!
So I played in a tournament Saturday.
Here's the link of info: https://www.milibrary.org/chess-tournaments/mechanics-institute-kids-swiss-june-2021-person
And I won first place out of 8 people in the 700+ section. Yes, it sounds trash. But my goal is to get to 25 games so I can probably get a NM title (since it's USCF).
I can't play that much OTB. The airplane tickets are expensive and my mom has to work. She doesn't earn that much money and I really feel cringed when I see her coming home because her hands hurt.
It's hard earned money.
But nevertheless, I completed my first five USCF rated games and I'm starting to earn a title (probably NM).
So let me share the games with you. Yes, they are all 1200-s, but they still created some problems for me.
The ratings are all pre-tournament ratings. The tme is 30 min d/5.

Game #1:
Such a lucky game! THIS IS EXACTLY WHY YOU TAKE YOUR TIME. I am way too lucky.
Game #3:
Game #4:
This is what happens to you when you are thinking "I must." In this case, black thought "I must defend," and he was miserably wrecked.
According to the engine, I played NO MISTAKES, NO MISSED WINS, NO INACCURACIES, AND NO BLUNDERS! ![]()
So that's it. Hope you enjoyed it and I'm now on the way to GM!
Won every single OTB game in US until now. It's time to train harder. Have a nice day!
